Having now looked at the history of musical instruments in the church, as well as what the Old Testament says about them, we now turn to the most important place of authority for our public worship today: the New Testament. What does the New Testament say about the use of musical instruments in the worship service? The answer is that the New Testament is COMPLETELY SILENT regarding their use in the public worship of the church! This silence should be deafening for us, and tells us that God has not authorized them to be used.
