In the last post, we began looking at Jesus’ statement from the cross, “It is finished.” We saw that many in the crowd believed that He indeed WAS finished, but in the sense that He was “done for”! This was NOT what Jesus meant, however; actually, He was far from being “done for”! Instead, Jesus was declaring that He had finished the work that He had been sent by His Father to do, which was to save His people from their sins.
