The Book of Hebrews, Part 22: Don’t Be A Deserter! (Heb. 6:1-8)

As we began to see in the first half of this message, people sometimes misinterpret the passage in Heb. 6:4-6 as teaching that a child of God can “fall from grace,” i.e., lose their eternal salvation. A plain reading of the text does NOT teach this, and neither do we reach this conclusion when comparing Scripture to Scripture. Rather, this is a stern warning to the child of God that he should be faithful and not fall away, because he may reach a place where it is impossible for the preacher or other man to reach him! But thankfully, the things that are impossible with men are possible with God!
