As we bring this series on the early life of David to a conclusion, we find ourselves saddened by the misery of sin that King Saul experienced at the end of his life. Because he sought advice from the witch of Endor instead of from God, God suffered him to be slain by the Philistines. The misery of sin is deep and traumatic in this life, but praise God it cannot prevent us from entering heaven! That precious privilege was bought by the blood of the Lamb of God, and can never be taken from us because of sin!
