As we conclude our look at Hebrews 11 today, we come to a group of people that the writer says the world was not worthy of. These faithful martyrs gave their lives in the service of God. And remember, these are primarily Old Testament martyrs; we will see as we close out the chapter that these martyrs gave up their lives before they actually experienced the “fullness of the time” when Christ should come into the world. How much better do we have it, and how much more faithful should we be, having now seen the fulfillment of the promise! May we have such faith in the age in which we live.
