As we have seen, even a “man after God’s own heart” is just a man! And David was no different: as faithful as he had been at times, now he has lost his faithfulness and resorted to the scheme of men to protect himself as he fled from Saul. Today, we are going to see some of the awful results of his faithlessness, and they are severe. May we remember that faith is the basis of our fellowship with God!
