The Kingdom of God, Part Twenty-Four: Objections to the Doctrine of Election (cont.) (Rom. 9)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached 4/10/22)

Today’s message continues and concludes our thoughts about the two objections to the doctrine of election that Paul deals with in Romans 9. In the first half of this message, we primarily dealt with the “Fairness” Objection – i.e., it wouldn’t be fair if God chose some but didn’t give everyone a chance. We saw that a “chance” salvation would be disastrous for all of us, and that “fairness” would only ensure that NO ONE will ever be in heaven! Today, we conclude our thoughts about the “Absolutism” Objection – i.e., that we are all puppets doing what God wants, and therefore He isn’t right to find fault with anyone. We will see that the foundation of this objection crumbles through Scripture as well.
