What Do You Want for Christmas? (Mat. 2:1-11)

Today is Christmas Day, the apex of a season that the world promotes as “the most wonderful time of the year.” In this festive time, we look forward to family gatherings, office parties, and the giving and receiving of gifts. But sometimes at this time of the year we find ourselves depressed instead of joyful. While the world points us to a “white Christmas,” we all too often find ourselves experiencing a “blue Christmas.” Perhaps the problem is that we have bought into the world’s unrealistic expectations. What do we want for Christmas? The answer to this question will determine whether we find joy and peace, or disappointment and depression, during this holiday season. Join us today as we ask ourselves, “What do we want for Christmas?”
