In Romans 2, we begin by looking at the difference between judgment and judgmentalism. There is no question that we are to exercise proper judgment in this life, but we are never to be judgmental in the exercise of that kind of discernment. Our judgment must be in accord with God’s standard of judgment! Paul then takes the Jews to task for being judgmental – i.e., looking down on the Gentiles and being self-righteous in their judgments.
