As we continue in this interlude between the blowing of the sixth and seventh trumpets, we come to Chapter 11, where we read that John is given a “reed like unto a rod.” This reed is simply a measuring rod, which God tells John to use in measuring the temple, the altar, and the participants in the worship. This is symbolic of the need for us to measure the church, and ourselves, by the word of God, and see if what we preach and teach, and how we worship, measures up! Join us as we look at this “measuring rod” of the word of God.
