The Bible has much to say about perseverance. The world often gets this doctrine wrong: they teach that one MUST persevere in order to maintain his or her status as a child of God. Contrary to this teaching, the Bible teaches that children of God can “fall away” from fellowship and discipleship, and lose the blessings of the Kingdom of God; but that a child of God can NEVER fall away from the grace of God, and lose his or her place in heaven!
