In this message, we begin to look at the first of Job’s miserable comforters. Eliphaz speaks to Job primarily from his own experience, and affirms without faltering that Job MUST be a great sinner, because God only afflicts sinners! His focus on “cause and effect” was off-base for several reasons, primarily because WE know that it was not God Who was doing all this to Job. Moreover, it did nothing to comfort Job!
