As the storm clouds of Calvary are looming on the horizon, a strange and wonderful thing happened to the Lord Jesus Christ: Mary, His friend and Lazarus’ and Martha’s sister, came to Him with a very expensive alabaster box filled with ointment, and broke and poured it on His head and wiped His feet with her hair and tears. Although there was indignation among the disciples about the “waste” of precious expensive oil, Jesus told them to leave her alone, that she was anointing Him for His burial. What a sacrifice on her part! What an account for us to learn from!
