Have you ever looked around you at the evidence of the sin-curse and just had to “sigh” within your spirit? Lately it seems like that is all I do! In this chapter of Mark’s Gospel, we see the Savior sighing deep within His own spirit as He is faced with the need to heal another person who has been afflicted because of Adam’s sin in the garden. In this act of sighing, Jesus demonstrates to us that He is very much touched by the feeling of our infirmities. But He doesn’t just sigh – He looks up into heaven, setting the example for us when we feel overwhelmed by the curse of sin felt around us, and the curse of sin felt within us. Join us as we examine our sighing Savior.
